Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

I am exhausted. Every minute, every day, even in my sleep.

CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) wears down your nervous system, immune system, and your body. It’s no wonder that chronic fatigue syndrome often accompanies CRPS.

Symptoms can include:

  • decreased REM stage sleep
  • fatigue
  • short-term memory loss
  • difficulty concentrating/slow thinking
  • sore throat
  • sensitivity to light, noise, emotion

I take naps and try to sleep around ten hours a night to get through the next day. A big worry of mine is that people will assume that I’m lazy. I am not. I want to be the “normal” I was before I was sick. Now I am trying to stay awake each day. Coffee can help, but ultimately I am worn out by mid-day.

Recently doctors have offered the option of stimulants to help me stay awake during the day. You would think this would be relieving, but I’m getting so tired of getting handed a pill for everything. I want a cure or research towards a cure not a pill for my symptoms.
